Installation

Get Solo Leveling running

Two required files, a handful of optional ones, and the official texture pack. Ten minutes if you have installed a mod before.

Versions

Two branches

Pick the one your pack or server uses

1.3.0 — NeoForgeUpdated
Minecraft 1.21.1NeoForge 21.1.244+

The version in active development, and what this wiki documents. New content lands here.

Last Forge buildNo longer updated
Minecraft 1.20.1Forge 47.2.0

Still playable and still downloadable — most modpacks, including ProFake's, run on it. It no longer receives updates, and it differs substantially from 1.3.0, so pages here will not always match it.

This wiki documents 1.3.0 on NeoForge

Everything here is written against 1.3.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. The 1.20.1 Forge build is still available and still played, but it is no longer updated and differs substantially, so expect pages here not to match it. Back up any world you care about before moving between branches.

Required

You need these two

The mod will not start without them

NeoForge

21.1.244 or newer

The mod loader itself. This is a NeoForge mod — it will not load on Fabric, and the old Forge builds are a separate, older branch.

GeckoLib

4.9.2 up to (not including) 5.0

Drives every animated model in the mod — bosses, shadows, weapons. Nothing renders correctly without it, and a 5.x build will not work.

Optional

Strongly worth having

The mod runs fine without any of them

Better Combat

Recommended2.4 up to (not including) 3.0

The mod ships dedicated Better Combat support: SLR weapons get proper attack animations and swing arcs instead of the vanilla flail. The single biggest feel upgrade you can install.

Sodium

Recommended0.6.13 up to (not including) 0.9

Rendering performance. SLR throws a lot of particles and shader work at the screen during boss fights, and Sodium is what keeps that playable on modest hardware.

Client onlyModrinth

Iris Shaders

1.8 up to (not including) 1.9

Shader support. The mod's own visual effects are built to sit alongside Iris rather than fight it, so gates and abilities hold up with shaders on.

Packs built for this mod

Step by step

Putting it together

  1. 01

    Install NeoForge

Get the 21.1.244 installer or newer for Minecraft 1.21.1 from neoforged.net and run it. Launch the game once on the new NeoForge profile so it creates your mods folder.

  2. 02

Drop in the mod and GeckoLib

Put the SLR jar and a 4.9.x GeckoLib jar into mods. Two files, same folder. Version-matching GeckoLib matters more than people expect — a 5.x build fails.

  3. 03

    Add the optional pieces

Better Combat if you want proper weapon animations, Sodium if you want frames. Both go in the same mods folder. Neither is required to play.

  4. 04

    Add the Arsenal pack

Download Solo Leveling: Arsenal and drop it in resourcepacks, then enable it in Options → Resource Packs. It is a texture pack, not a mod, so it does not go in mods.

  5. 05

    Create a world

World creation has a Solo Leveling tab: Story Mode, progression speed, difficulty, XP rate, job change level, gate access and death rules. You can leave every one of them alone and play the intended defaults.

Addons

Made for Solo Leveling

Install the mod first — these need it

SoloCraft: Voice Commands

OfficialTo be released

Made byefkrdnzz

Hold a key, say "Arise", and the shadows rise

Cast Arise by saying it out loud. Recognition runs entirely on your own machine — no AI, no model download, no API key, no account, and no network traffic. The mod matches your voice against recordings you make yourself during a short enrollment.

1.21.1 · NeoForge

Also wants: Simple Voice Chat 2.6.20+, required — it supplies the microphone feed

Not released yet. Needs SLR 1.3.0, so it ships alongside that.

Solo Leveling: System

Partnered

Made byNexShey

The System, lifted off the screen and into the world

Replaces the flat System GUI with a holographic, world-space interface: 3D panels that exist in the world rather than on your screen, radial navigation, and interactive windows. Built specifically for Solo Leveling: Reawakening.

1.21.1 · 1.20.1 · NeoForge · Forge

Also wants: Oculus, optional, for shader support

Followed SLR onto 1.21.1 NeoForge. The older 1.20.1 Forge build is still downloadable, but the author marks it as the old version.

SoloCraft: Dungeon Expansion

Made bysaruki

Forty-one dungeons, and a campaign you are not meant to finish clean

A content pack the size of a second mod: 41 dungeons across every gate rank, 219 custom creatures, and a 56-step campaign paying out a fixed number of skill points — fewer than it costs to buy everything. Guild standing, Jeju Island and crystal cutting sit on top of SLR's own systems rather than replacing them.

1.21.1 · NeoForge

Also wants: GeckoLib 4.9.2 or newer, required; NeoForge 21.1.244 or newer

Built against SLR 1.3.x on the 1.21.1 NeoForge branch. English only so far.

SLR: Forgeworks

Made byMikaHa

Magic beasts start dropping something worth carrying home

Turns kills into materials and materials into gear. Six ranked drop types come off beasts by creature family, and six workstations — four of them wired into a shared mana grid — cut, forge and assemble those drops into crystal alloy weapons and armour that pass vanilla from D-rank up.

1.21.1 · NeoForge

Also wants: GeckoLib, required; JEI, optional — a recipe page per station; JER, optional — which beasts drop what, at which rank, at what odds

Needs SLR 1.3.1+. The author is explicit that the balance numbers are still test data — see the last section.

Solo Leveling: Gate Compass

Made byGoldMaster_CZ

Stop sweeping the horizon for a gate you already found

A compass band on the HUD that marks every gate it knows about by its true bearing and rank, with the distance in blocks once you turn to face one. It keeps tracking gates after they fall outside render distance, so going back to one stops being a search.

1.21.1 · NeoForge

Also wants: NeoForge 21.1+ and Java 21

Needs SLR 1.3.1. First release — a Secretary NPC, a Gate Tracker item and an Immersive Mode are listed as planned, not shipped.

SLR: Better Admin Control

Made byMikaHa

Every SLR rule in one panel, plus seven knobs SLR keeps welded together

An in-game admin panel for SLR's world rules, sorted into six pages instead of memorised as gamerule names. Adds seven scaling rules that pull SLR's combined enemy and boss values apart, and translates the settings whose raw numbers read as nonsense.

1.21.1 · NeoForge

Also wants: SoloCraft: Dungeon Expansion, optional — adds a second page for that pack's own world rules

Needs SLR 1.3.1+. Server-side: a joining client needs nothing installed.

Multiplayer

Playing with other people

Every player and the server need the same mod version and the same GeckoLib version. Mismatches disconnect rather than degrade. Optional client-side mods — Sodium, Iris, the Arsenal pack — do not need to match, since the server never sees them.
